Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play spaces for all children.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
