Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, making certain protected and inclusive play areas for all kids.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchin s’ contributions, and the award presentation.
