Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our group.

Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary college teacher and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
