Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to bettering the lives of youngsters in our group.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary faculty instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
